U.S. Marshals service offers $10,000 reward for information on escaped Alabama inmate and corrections officer

The U.S. Marshals Service is offering a $10,000 reward for information regarding a missing inmate and corrections officer in Alabama. The service took up the case of escaped Lauderdale County Jail inmate Casey Cole White, 38, and Assistant Director of Corrections Vicki White, who went missing after they left the jail together on Friday morning. Despite sharing a last name, the two are not related. U.S. Marshal Marty Keely encouraged anyone with information on Casey White’s location to contact the U.S. Marshal’s Service but warned that he should not be approached, as he is considered dangerous:  “Do not attempt to apprehend this fugitive,” Keely said.

Casey White and Vicki White disappeared at 9:41 a.m. Friday, after Vicki White told colleagues she was taking the inmate to the Lauderdale County Courthouse for a mental evaluation by herself.  However, Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton said there were no court appearances scheduled for the man and transporting him alone was “a strict violation of policy.”  In addition, Vicki White also told colleagues she was going to seek medical attention after dropping Casey White off at the courthouse because she was feeling unwell; her patrol vehicle was found in a shopping center parking lot less than 2 hours later and the inmate never returned to custody.

Casey White was charged with murder, murder for hire, and burglary in relation to the 2015 death of 58-year-old Connie Ridgeway at her home in Rogersville, Alabama. Casey White had confessed to the murder and was awaiting trial at the jail. according to the U.S. Marshals Service. He is believed to be a serious threat to the public.

Casey White is described by the Marshals Service as being 6 feet 9 inches tall and weighing around 260 pounds with hazel eyes and brown hair. Anyone with information about Casey White or the location of Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office Assistant Director of Corrections Vicki White is encouraged to call the U.S. Marshals Service Communications Center at 1-800-336-0102. One person dead, five others injured in shooting at Mississippi Mudbug Festival

Authorities said that one person was killed and five others were injured when multiple shooters opened fire Saturday at the Mississippi Mudbug Festival in Jackson, Mississippi. The person who died is suspected to have been one of the shooters and was shot by a law enforcement officer responding to the scene at the state fairgrounds.

The incident occurred around 10 p.m. Saturday during the Second Annual Mississippi Mudbug Festival in Jackson. Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones said other people injured were hospitalized in stable condition Sunday morning, including a police officer. Jones posted on Twitter early Sunday morning the injured “appear to be stable at this time and don’t appear to be directly involved in the shooting or circumstances that led to the shooting.”  Four victims were taken to the University of Mississippi Medical Center for treatment, Jones said.

The second annual Mudbug Festival was billed as a family fun event with live bands, carnival rides and a crawfish boil and eating contest. This year’s Mudbug Festival featured musical headliners, including Blue Oyster Cult and Laine Hardy. Blues musician Bobby Rush had been scheduled to close out the festival with a performance Sunday night. Sunday’s events at the Mississippi Mudbug Festival, which was supposed to be the festival’s final day, were canceled.

Recovered at the scene were two rifles, one pistol and a “large magnitude of different-caliber shell casings.” Two juveniles were detained, but no charges have been filed in the incident, authorities said. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is assisting in the probe due to an officer being involved in the shooting.

Before Madame Web makes her cinematic debut, the next chapter in Sony’s universe of Marvel characters will be Kraven the Hunter, set to premiere on January 13, 2023 and starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the titular poacher.  Madame Web his theaters on July 7, 2023, two weeks after The Flash premieres and three weeks before Disney releases Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
